one. I only answer ic memes from mutuals.
two. However, anyone may send me ooc messages meant for me or asking about my muse!!
Any edited graphic used on this blog I made myself (save for any art used for themes/etc, unless otherwise stated.)
All my icons are cropped/edited by me from either various official source material or various doujinshi works for the franchise. Any not made by me were taken from @TOUHOUICONHEAVEN and edited with permission.
I’m more than fine with duplicates. I normally won’t follow you first though, because I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable.
I’m here to have fun. If I offend anyone, I 100% guarantee it was not intentional. I try to get along with everyone, so please come to me if you have a problem with me, no matter how small, and we can talk it out!
I will not publish/respond to any hate. Any blogs/anons that send it in will be blocked.
I do not get involved in drama if it can be avoided. I have ‘drama /’ and ‘callout /’ blacklisted for my own comfort. The only instance in which I, personally, break this rule, is if it involves myself, my friends, or has affected the community or the rpc in a major way. This is ALWAYS tagged.
I do not condone callout culture, but I do approve of callouts if they’re NECESSARY. Read: they’re not over trivial matters, and have substantial evidence as to why [insert name/url here] should be blocked/avoided. In any other instance, I much prefer discussing any issues one on one, rather than going to such drastic measures.
Also, if you buy into the whole “clique” mentality, I’ll soft block you. Simply put, having friends you associate with and have fun with isn’t problematic.
I rarely unfollow people, but if I do it’s likely because: you’ve been inactive (without mention of a hiatus), you don’t tag your nsfw AS nsfw without anything fancy so blacklist actually picks it up, or you post a bunch of unrelated images/etc that makes your blog seem more like a personal than anything.
This blog is SELECTIVE AND PRIVATE. I will only roleplay with mutuals (that is, you follow me and I follow you back) and I will only follow you back if I’m interested in interacting. If I follow you, I want to interact with you.
Non-mutuals, if you send me ic stuff or reblog to an ic post, I will not respond.
As of right now, I DON’T block personals. HOWEVER I will definitely block personals (AND other rp blogs) who reblog my personal posts / stuff that obviously wasn’t meant to be reblogged. If you see something I post (a graphic, text post, picture ect.) and you aren’t sure whether it’s okay to reblog it or not feel free to ask me about it to clear anything up!
Idc what your format is for roleplaying. Icons / no icons / small text / etc. You do you and I will follow my own style of formatting in turn. Feel free to alter my small text if it’s a problem or ask me not to use it for our threads. uvu/
I will RP with any muse that interests me. OC, crossover, multimuse, self inserts, I don’t care, muses of all sorts are more than welcome and highly encouraged!
Touhou Project is overall a pretty light hearted series, so there shouldn’t be anything to really worry about. Common themes of the franchise mostly include being forgotten, youkai and other folklore elements, the potential for general horror and huge supernatural elements of all varieties. Ic threads with these themes will not be tagged.
I WILL, however, tag triggers in ooc posts/image reblogs to the best of my ability. If I ever forget to tag something please let me know and I will do it right away. I’m only human after all, and I follow a lot of people, it’s hard to remember what every individual person would like tagged at times.
As for myself, I have no triggers. I do however ask you to please tag any visual images of eye horror (mostly eyes getting punctured/removed/damaged in any way) as seeing it makes me highly uncomfortable (only in images, I’m totally fine reading it so don’t worry about that if it ever comes up in threads or smth)
My format for tagging triggers/content is #tw: [ name of trigger ] and #[ name of content ] /
I’m old enough to do nsfw stuff, both mun and muse are of age. I tend to AVOID smut though, and certainly won’t open with it. I’m much more into the relationship between the characters than the smut itself. Reimu herself isn’t very interested in the topic anyway. However, I’m not likely to thread smut with you period unless we talk often ooc and/or I feel comfortable with you. If smut ever does happen on this blog, it’ll ALWAYS be tagged and put under a readmore.
Nsfw in terms of horror/gore is more than fine by me though.
I rather plot out fight threads in advance!
I will tag Touhou spoilers up to a week after the english translation of the games / manga chapter are available to the world.
This blog is multiship. But also rather selective with its shipping. Plenty of chemistry and development is needed for the ship to grow and advance. I don’t mind plotting things out however, so come talk to me!
Do not force a ship on me.
That said, I don’t have any problems with establishing relationships, just please come to me first and ask if we can plot something out (be it something friendly, hateful, etc.) When threading with castmates, I will automatically assume Reimu has already met them and at least has the beginnings of an opinion on them. If this is an issue, just let me know!
All relationships exist in their own separate verse unless stated otherwise.
For romantic ships, I will only ship with one portrayal of any particular muse at a time. (one Marisa, one Sanae, ect.). This isn’t an issue with platonic or other types of ships.
I AM SLOW. I have a busy personal life and as such there will be moments where I may go a while without replying to threads. This doesn’t mean I’ve dropped our thread. It just means I’m running behind and it’s probably in the drafts. You’re free to ask me about it, but please don’t send me multiple messages about it/spam me.
I have a discord which MUTUALS are free to ask for at any time. Fair warning, while I LOVE talking to people and do my best, I suck at keeping up with conversations most of the time and get very drained very quickly if I am to stretched out between too many convos at once.
This has NOTHING to do with you, me not responding to your message likely just means I don’t know how to respond or simply forgot too. Please don’t let that discourage you from throwing yourself at me though, I swear you are NEVER a bother.
It’s quite literally not you, it’s me. I suck at keeping up conversations sometimes :/
I track my url: HAKUREIMAIDEN
rules will be added/changed as needed.

To many around her the true personality of the Shrine Maiden of Paradise is little more than a mystery. A girl whose personality seems to vary depending on who you ask about it. The ruthless, cold hearted exterminator the youkai see, the mysterious, secretive and aloof girl the human villagers see, indeed Reimu has allowed for others to make there own impressions of her with little care as to how accurate or inaccurate those views may be. For in truth the maiden is all of those things, at least in part, and certainly much more.
Straightforward, optimistic, and naturally curious, Reimu Hakurei is first and foremost a very carefree young girl. The current Shrine Maiden of Paradise, she is a human who exterminates multitudes of youkai with her keen intuition and her natural good luck. While she seems to possess no real sense of danger, perhaps it is better said that due to the fact her intuition has never lead her astray, she feels no reason to worry herself when matters turn dangerous, holding a mentality that “everything will work itself out eventually” and certainly she has the power to backup possessing such optimistic beliefs. It comes to no surprise then, that she can be a very lazy person, and indeed her ideal time-waster is to sit on her porch drinking tea while idly enjoying the view.
However, she is a kind and good natured person at heart, and thus is willing to offer her help if necessary. Though she won’t do it without a lot of grumbling. This is an important part of her: she often acts like things inconvenience her, while they often do, especially in her line of work, she tends to exaggerate exactly how much it really bothers her. Because of this, she seems quick to anger, as what sets her off is considerably less than most others.
Reimu is also a very honest person, the idea of lying hardly ever crossing her mind, and she has always been one to speak the brutal truth, more often than not, regardless of how her words may affect others. She has little reason to hold back what’s on her mind after all, and because of this, everything she does carries with it a sense of true sincerity. When she smiles, she truly smiles, when she is upset, she is truly upset. A very simplistic way of being.
She is also quite amicable, her unusually easygoing and honest nature making her quite appealing to many who value such traits in a person, as long as they are able to get past how easily she can come off as being rude at the start by virtue of these very same qualities. After all, she treats everyone in the same uninterested manner, neither kindly nor harshly, not treating anybody as if they are more or less important than anybody else, whether they be human, youkai or god, an extremely neutral way of looking at the world. Perhaps as a direct result of that, strong personalities tend to like her, while weak ones tend to fear her.
Despite how aloof and harsh she can seem at first glance, she does truly have a kind heart, and does seek to maintain peace and harmony with others where she can. Despite being generally honest with expressing her thoughts on any given situation, she can at times be quite secretive about her own inner feelings, and will rarely ever speak out on what actually bothers her, instead sticking with grumbling about some other inconsequential thing.
Really, Reimu only truly seeks out peace, yet is a person forced into dealing with situations which threaten the very balance of it. Is it any wonder she has worked up a reputation for being quite ruthless when it comes to her work? Afterall, it’s not her fault youkai keep deciding to stir up trouble, it’s only her job to stop it.
On the eastern edge of Gensokyo lies it’s only shrine, a shrine long lost to history by the world of humans. This shrine exists on the border between Gensokyo and the Outside World, of fantasy and reality, existing right on the border of common sense. All of Gensokyo can be seen from this shrine, and it is famous for having the most beautiful cherry blossom trees within Gensokyo.
Reimu Hakurei is the current in a long line of Hakurei Shrine maidens, whose job it is to watch over and maintain the Great Hakurei Barrier, a magical boundary, which without, the very nature of Gensokyo itself would come to be threatened. The shrine maidens resolve incidents for a living, as well as exterminate troublesome youkai, they have been doing this generation after generation.
The very existence of both Reimu and her shrine ensures the continued existence of Gensokyo itself, thus making it one of the most important places within this realm of fantasy. However, this fact has become basically unknown to most in the current age, and the shrine has been attacked and (at times) destroyed on multiple occasions by various youkai.
While the shrine is able to serve its function as a shrine even when destroyed, it isn’t really the best place to live. On top of this, the true identity of the God of the Hakurei Shrine is obscure; even Reimu, its supposed shrine maiden, does not know its name or blessings. As a result, she is unable to supply it with faith, and the god’s power has been steadily declining, much to its frustration. On top of this, the lack of any (normal) human visitors (with even less leaving donations) makes the task of even sustaining herself difficult for the young girl. Still, Reimu does her best to maintain her shrine and to resolve any incidents which may pop up.
Though it doesn’t seem like it, due to the importance of the Hakurei Shrine and its shrine maidens when it comes to preserving the current state of Gensokyo, within the realm of fantasy her word is law, and very few can go toe to toe with her without serious repercussion. Because of this, the spell card system was created by her hand, in order to give humans a fair chance against the youkai, and the youkai a fair chance against her.
Reimu exists to maintain harmony, a completely neutral party by both her nature and the sheer need to be in order to maintain the fragile balance that is Gensokyo’s current state of peace. For this paradise is truly is not unlike the Tower of Babel made out of sand, and one wrong move could send this carefully constructed wonderland crumbling to the ground.
Luckily, Reimu is very good at her job. While still young and always learning, her natural talents and personality both made it possible for her to usure Gensokyo into its current era of peace in the first place, and to (hopefully) be able to continue to maintain it for years to come.
– Reimu’s age is basically up in the air to her (she doesn’t keep track of her own birthday). On top of this, due to the odd passage of time within Gensokyo itself, keeping track of what her actual age would be in relation to the Outside World is basically impossible.
– In recent years, the shrine has become quite a popular hangout for youkai. Said youkai are quickly chased away by Reimu. This however, is mostly because their presence makes her job harder and not because she particularly dislikes any of them.
– Regardless of how she may act, Reimu has an innocent heart that can’t truly hate anyone.
– Though Reimu says she wants to eliminate all the youkai in Gensokyo, she actually just wants to attain a peace in Gensokyo that doesn’t require violence.
– She knows close to nothing about the Outside World, and what she does know is all very outdated. Even within Gensokyo, she isn’t very aware of the latest trends of the human village or its youkai residents as she tends to just stay within her shrine minding her own business.
– Her shrine is constantly visited by various stray cats which she feeds when she can. She doesn’t have names for any of them however.
– She likes the sound of wind chimes and has quite a few hanging around her shrine.
– Current Hakurei Shrine freeloaders tally: The Three Fairies of Light (in a tree in the back of her shrine), Clownpiece (under her shrine's floorboards), Aunn Komano (komainu protecting her shrine), Shion Yorigami (temporarily), Suika Ibuki (frequent visitor), Marisa Kirisame (frequent visitor), Yukari Yakumo (frequent visitor)
ABILITY TO FLOAT: While flight is an extremely common ability among the inhabitants of Gensokyo, Reimu’s ability extends far beyond that. Along with allowing for flight, she can use this power to teleport short distances at an instant. The ultimate expression of this ability however, is in her fantasy nature, which allows Reimu to float up high and become out of reach from enemies’ attacks. According to the creator of Touhou, ZUN
[Fantasy Nature] Supreme Master-Art. With Reimu’s ability to float, she floats away from physical reality and becomes invincible. If it wasn’t just for play (with time limit), no one could beat her by any method.
ABILITIES AS THE SHRINE MAIDEN OF HAKUREI.
BARRIER MANIPULATION: Reimu can conjure barriers, which often play a part in her spell cards as well as her natural fighting abilities. She can use them as danmaku, as well as to push and pull enemies closer, make them explode, or have them act as portals for her other attacks. She can also dismantle complex magical barriers with relative ease.GOD CHANNELING: Reimu can allow gods into her body, boosting her own abilities. However, she isn’t well-trained enough to pull this off reliably without a lot of prior preparation.YOUKAI EXTERMINATION: Through the use of her Yin Yang orbs and magic charms, she can exterminate any non-human threat. She can also bless areas to avoid possession, among other shrine maiden-related tasks.SPIRITUALLY SENSITIVE: Reimu can sense the auras of people and of places, particularly she can sense the presence of youkai, a sense so keen she can tell a youkai has been in the area half a day after it had been active there. Besides this, she can also sense and see spirits, along with being able to hold seances and communicate with the dead and divine beings. Though she rarely actually does any of these things.
INTUITION: While not an ability per say Reimu’s intuition is certainly notable. Very often she is able to find the culprit behind major incidents through this alone. She trusts her intuition more than anything, and well, it’s hardly ever wrong.
DANMAKU: Also known as Spell Card Duels (aka, the “curtain fire bullet hell” part of the games themselves) The typical fighting style which exists in Gensokyo. Preferred over normal fighting because it avoids bloodshed.
NEW!’GAPS’: Using her abilities over barriers Reimu’s powers have grown to allow her to create ‘gaps’ between locations by linking one plane of existence to another. A very new and very much a still developing ability. These gaps also act as temporary ‘storage space’. She channels some of her bigger attacks from these.

modern verse; modern day au threads A young girl with the ability to see and communicate with all manner of supernatural beings which inhabit our world, she much rather just live her life freely than deal with any of the troublesome youkai and ghosts which are much too insistent on bothering her during her daily life.
A young university student who has no real idea what to do with the rest of her life, Reimu is a member of the Girls’ Secret Sealing Club due to the insistence of her childhood friend, Marisa Kirisame.
TIMELINE: modern day. Can also double as a ‘highschool au’ verse, though by default will have Reimu as a freshmen at a university in Tokyo.>
